You followed me through the hall that night
All shined up and polished
The girls in town said you were trouble
But trouble never frightens me anyway

You asked me to dance
And took my hand
Making the girls scream envy from their eyes

You held my waist
I placed my head on your shoulder
The band played a song
Not quite fast but not slow either
We rocked in each others arms as the band played another and another

Then you followed me home that night
Walked me to the porch
As I climb the steps and swing the door open
I waltz through not closing it behind me

You follow me up the stairs
Pulling the ribbon in my hair
Unwrapping me like Christmas morning and unfolding me like a long lost love letter

I followed you that morning with fresh love on my body
You called me "baby" and kisses my forehead
Willing you to come back
Hoping you'd never go
My heart followed you every day after
After you followed me that night...
